We gave our home a thorough cleaning yesterday. In line with tradition, the customary spring cleaning is a must before Chinese New Year.
Thanks to Aaron and Abel, the job we did obtained full marks and praise. When we received Roseline's compliments, all the sweat we had instantaneously evaporated! Indeed words of encouragement can do wonders!
Later in the evening our cell group celebrated a pre-Chinese New Year thanksgiving pot bless. I cooked lamb stew, five-colors veg and fried tofu with bonito flakes. Everyone showcased their signature dishes! We had a great time comparing notes while savoring! You can view more pics here uploaded by our cell group leader William Ting.
After the sumptuous dinner, Duan and Angeline hosted a modified game of Charades. We played as if it was a zero-sum game, and showed no mercy to the opposing team. Even the kids got so worked up as we were involved in a battle of wits!
Before we concluded the gathering, some of our members shared their personal Christian experiences for the past 12 months. Our fellowship was really meaningful last night as we reflected upon our Lord's blessings.
We will take a break and resume meeting on Feb 15.
How to be salt and light?

This is an emotional day. We drive several hours to say goodbye to my first
cousin. She died December 31, not unexpected, yet we were not ready for it. ...
